Good Dividends is a new model of business

Good Dividends is a new way of thinking about creating business value. The core idea of Good Dividends is that all businesses can develop six areas of value that will help develop a regenerative business. When these are integrated greater value is developed by engaging with your people, enriching the planet and improving business performance.

A regenerative economy depends on regenerative businesses that are restoring, renewing and revitalising the planet and the communities that they operate within so that everyone is ‘growing well’ in a balanced, sustainable way.

By realising Good Dividends we can move towards good growth.

Business Leads Change

Businesses have the potential to be the greatest mechanism on the planet to enhance humanity if they can do this profitably and generate dividends for all their stakeholders. Good Dividends is a concept of how businesses can be a force for good in the world by incorporating purpose into the core of the business and linking it to social impact and an organisation’s business model.

Business value can be created by being purpose-led and engaging with 6 Good Dividends: Planet-Community, Reputation-Brand, Finance, Operations, Innovation and  People.

The Good Dividends business model also supports the building of a  learning organisationwhich can provide a sustainable competitive advantage.

Sustainable vs Regenerative

Do more good

Recent consumer trends are moving to go well beyond sustainability towards ‘do more good’ for the planet.

We believe sustainability alone is not enough as sustainability us giving back only what we take.

In contrast, regenerative means giving back much more than we take.

Degenerative vs Regenerative

Do less harm?

Businesses have played a significant role in degrading the social, economic, ecological, and governance commons, but they can play an equal role in regeneration through the adoption of a Good Dividends approach.

International and Inter-disciplinary Initiative

Good Dividends is an international and inter-disciplinary initiative of 18 academics and organisational leaders. Led by Professor Steve Kempster, the central ideas have been tested and refined in partnership with QuoLux™ and the Regenerative Alliance.

The Good Dividends initiative is also a positive response to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015. SDGs are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

The ideas have been made available for business leaders to realise Good Dividends through the development of Good Dividends digital tools and a complementary set of programs – purpose-led leadership and purpose-led business.

Open-source Research Platform

The purpose of the website is to help businesses develop Good Dividends. The tools and resources are available for businesses to realise Good Dividends whilst helping to build data to show how the Good Dividends enhance people, the planet and profit.
